Whatever your age and whatever your level fitness it is never too late, or indeed too soon, to take up yoga.
All you need to get started is a curious and flexible mind; if you stick with the classes a flexible body will soon follow.
John’s classes, which last, in most cases for 1½ hrs, attract students with very different physical abilities. Some are keen sportsmen and women, drawn to yoga by the added strength and stretch it provides to their muscles. Others, when not at yoga, are more likely to be found walking the dog, growing vegetables or watching sport on TV!
Some students have health issues – bad backs or painful shoulders – some are recovering from serious illness. Yoga can be extremely beneficial in aiding recovery, but you will need to make John aware of your medical history before you begin.
Wherever on the fitness spectrum you sit, you are advised to attend an introductory, private session, before finding a class, or classes, at a level that suits your particular needs.
There is no need in the first instance to purchase any equipment – not even a mat. John’s well-equipped studio has everything you need. All you require is some comfortable sportswear, a T-shirt and a pair of leggings or cotton shorts and the desire to get started.
Anyone and everyone can benefit from doing yoga. So why not you? |
